The increasing demand in energy worldwide, environmental and climate impacts, energy supply shortages, and volatile economic shocks are sparing no community. People are realizing that their reliance on carbon-based energy has become untenable. In communities across the globe a great many are stepping up and taking action. So while the problem is global in scope, the solutions will often be profoundly local.
Community Energy Solutions sees these challenges as opportunities for positive change at the local level. We are a Washington state nonprofit that promotes sustainable energy practices through the following activities:
• Providing education about conservation and renewable energy to raise awareness and assistance,
• Help communities to measure and discover opportunities to reduce their carbon footprint,
• Engage public agencies, businesses, individuals and students in voluntary and readily implementable carbon reduction activities, and
• Creating local community-based renewable energy and energy conservation projects.
