Community Energy Solutions is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing clean, renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions. We work with individuals, organizations, and communities interested in harnessing positive energy and creating powerful change. We have achieved success by being innovative yet practical. As a result, we have made our mark in the areas of clean energy projects and community-based energy programs, policy, education and advocating.

Jan. 2009: CES completed the first community renewable energy project on the Olympic Peninsula, at Sakai Intermediate School on Bainbridge Island. >> learn more
Spring 2009: CES orchestrated the passage of community solar bill in Washington State, effectively increasing the opportunity for individuals and organizations to participate in owning a solar PV system. >> learn more
Oct. 2009: CES organized the 4th Annual Kitsap County Solar Tour showcasing homes with solar and/or other green features across the County. >> learn more
Nov. 2009: CES initiated the Community Smart Power program, a residential home energy performance improvement program that builds upon community network to help and nudge people to get on a path towards greater energy efficiency, increased comfort, lower utility bills, while doing good to the environment and strengthening the local economy. >> learn more
Summer, 2009: CES played a crucial role in getting Kitsap County's attention to the need of creating a comprehensive energy efficiency program to help moderate income families. The efforts result in the County's decision to allocate $250,000 of its Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant money towards an energy efficiency financing program. CES understands the importance of lowering high upfront costs for homeowners and business owners to invest in deep retrofits for efficiency upgrades. >> learn more
Feb. 2010: CES completed a solar hot water project for a Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County-sponsored house, making it the first house in Washington State with renewable energy feature. >> learn more
